BMW5 - What to Bring
Unicycle/s
Preferably 24/26 inch with knobbly tyres. 20 inchers may find it a
bit of a long haul. We plan to cover quite a few miles.
Safety gear
MINIMUM = cycle helment and either heavy gloves or wrist guards
For the safety conscious, over-ambitious, or just plain clumsy add
some/all of the following:
leg armour, shin-pads, knee pads, elbow pads, soft bumbbag(back protection),
full body cotton-wool suit.
Camping Gear
Usual stuff including food.
Clothing
Having at least 2 sets of riding clothes is recommended.
Remember that Snowdon is a proper mountain with all that entails.
Weather conditions may change rapidly and without much warning and
it is likely to be much colder at the top than at the bottom. Given
this, a waterproof/windproof jacket would be a good idea, and some
layering might be sensible.
Food + Drink
It is recommended to bring something to drink with you on the
rides - water or energy drinks recommended. You may want to take
some flapjacks, sweets or other sustanance too in case your
energy levels flag.
Normal food might be a good idea for breakfast/evenings and I'm
sure a drop of alcohol might get consumed at some point.
